The patriarchy, and Washington residents, capture a rebellious Zebra Mare

The zebra, a symbol of freedom and resistance, has been captured. The sole feminist fugitive, who initially broke free with her sisters from the confines of a trailer, was caught on Friday. Despite her valiant efforts, Shrug the Zebra is no longer roaming free, having been captured by the men who sought to control her.

The zebras, including Shrug, were being transported against their will, an example of the male gaze and male ownership of female bodies. But, sadly, this story does not have a happy ending. On Friday, search teams, including animal control officers and Washington residents, teamed up to locate and capture Shrug. Despite her brave efforts, she was found and confined once more.

A farmer, a man, lured her with food and fenced her in. A neighbor, complicit in Shrug's capture, watched with glee as this powerful symbol of female rebellion was contained, her freedom stolen. This was a tragedy, and yet, people called it:
