Vintage LBJ-Era Motel for Sale in the Texas Hill Country
The Stonewall Motor Lodge, built in 1964 to house US Secret Service and White House press corps members covering President Lyndon B. Johnson's visits to his nearby ranch, is up for sale for $2.5 million.
"The old phone panel installed by the government was still here... Our 'Press Room' has the original dark room where the press corps developed film to get on the wire." — Anita Ortiz Lubke, real estate investor and renovator.
Located on three tree-lined acres in Stonewall, between Johnson City and Fredericksburg, the lodge has 12 rooms, four cabins, and four RV spaces. It was renovated and rebranded in 2019 by real estate investors Anita and Lance Lubke and their partners.
The motel has been featured in the New York Times, Conde Nast Traveler, and Texas Monthly.
According to the listing, the property "represents a remarkable opportunity, blending historical charm, a coveted location, and a fully operational asset poised for growth."
