Austin's Tech Scene Soars with 3 Companies in the Fortune 500
As Austin's profile rises, so does its presence on influential lists like Forbes' Fortune 500. The city now boasts 3 tech giants in the prestigious ranking:
- Dell Technologies (Rank: 48), with a staggering $88 billion in revenue.
- Tesla (Rank: 40), the world's most valuable car company, saw an 18.8% revenue increase to $96.7 billion.
- Oracle (Rank: 89), which moved to Austin in 2020, generated $49.9 billion, a record-breaking $7 billion increase since its relocation.
Texas Metros' Strong Showing:
- Texas was dethroned by California this year, with the West Coast state boasting 57 companies to Texas' 52.
- Houston stood out with 21 entries, led by oil giants.
- San Antonio featured twice, including Valero Energy, one of Texas' highest-ranked companies.
- DFW had 10 companies on the list, including Southwest and American Airlines despite their recent struggles.
