Austin Developer Aims to Tackle Housing Affordability Crisis with New Project

As Austin grapples with housing affordability, a local developer steps up with a plan: 600 Cumberland Road, an eight-story mixed-use development in South Austin, will offer 110 apartments, 50% of which are below market rate.

  • Amenities: Pool, fitness center, business center, lounge, underground parking
  • Affordable Units: For residents earning 50-80% of Travis County's median income, rents won't exceed 30% of gross income. (E.g., $1,103 for an efficiency unit at 50% MFI)
  • Market Rate Units: From $1,500/mo for a studio to over $3,000/mo for a 2-bed
  • Funding: Capital Impact Partners, a national nonprofit lender
