Congress Avenue pedestrian zone plan unwise.

Austin Mulls Walkable Plazas on Congress

Re: Oct. 11 article, "Austin mulls walkable plazas on Congress"

Another plan to make driving and parking anywhere near downtown even worse. I already avoid restaurants and businesses downtown because of traffic and impossible parking. Turning blocks of Congress Avenue into a pedestrian zone will only make the situation worse in the entire area.

Our city leaders really want us out of our cars or maybe out of our city entirely. But I’m sure those who live downtown in those high-rise buildings will be thrilled to have their own private park.
