Blink-182 Unleashes Profane Pop Punk in Last North American Tour Show
Blink-182 brought their signature profane pop punk to Zilker Park Friday, marking the last North American show of their tour. The band, consisting of Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge, and Travis Barker, delivered a mix of crude humor and nostalgia, reminiscent of their MTV heyday over 20 years ago.
Hoppus, sporting a "Juan In a Mullion" T-shirt, took jabs at OU, while DeLonge shared inappropriate workout stories. Even the usually quiet Barker took the microphone briefly.
"This is our 123rd show on this tour and we’re spending it with you," Hoppus said.
The band shared crude jokes and anecdotes, including a story about DeLonge's dad and introducing their guitar tech as Jesus Christ.
Here are the 10 wildest quotes from their show:
1. Tom bragged about playing a “Full chord progression” with all of his fingers, followed by an uncensored mom joke.
2. “You want to see pandering? University of Oklahoma can (expletive) a (expletive),” Hoppus said.
3. Hoppus and DeLonge exchanged explicit jokes about manscaping and shaving habits.
4. Hoppus mentioned their sound guy's house being damaged by Hurricane Ian, with DeLonge undercutting the moment by saying, “He’s not lying to get laid.”
5. DeLonge shared explicit details about his personal trainer, saying he might start working out twice a week after the tour.
6. Barker briefly said, “What’s up Austin?” when handed the microphone.
7. Hoppus compared women to Teslas, joking about zero emissions.
8. Hoppus made controversial jokes about broken homes and played their 2001 divorce anthem "Stay Together For the Kids."
9. The band made crude jokes about the female orgasm, likening the clitoris to an undiscovered dinosaur.
10. Hoppus praised Chris Stapleton, who was also performing at Zilker, in an extremely explicit manner.
The show included a deep cut from their side project Box Car Racer. Despite the crude humor, there were some heartfelt moments, making it a memorable night for fans.
