Texas Set to Execute Man for Shaken Baby Murder, But He Says He's Innocent
A Texas judge has set an execution date of Oct. 17 for Robert Roberson, convicted of killing his 2-year-old daughter, Nikki. But Roberson and his supporters, including the Innocence Project, say he's innocent and that shaken baby syndrome (SBS), the "science" used to convict him, is bogus.
In good ole Texas fashion, Roberson was sentenced to death by a trial court in 2003 for capital murder. Prior to sweet Nikki coming into his life, she was born to a homeless woman in 1999 who already had two other kids taken away. The mother didn't disclose the dad's name, but Nikki's grandparents gave custody to Roberson in 2001. Nikki had some health issues, including frequent infections and breathing problems.
Mr. Roberson languishes on death row because Texas courts have ignored advancements in science and compelling new medical evidence...proves his innocence.

Now, y'all might be thinking, what's a kind, loving father like Roberson doing on death row? Well, them liberals at the Innocence Project would have you believe that Roberson is an innocent victim of bad science. They say Nikki's health issues, plus a little cough syrup, caused her to stop breathing one night in January 2002. Roberson found her on the floor, cried like a liberal, and rushed her to the ER, where she was declared brain dead. But them medics, always looking for a reason to call the cops, suspected abuse and called the law.
The prosecution, God bless 'em, argued that Nikki had died from a combination of shaking and blows to the head, and those big-government believers at the jury bought it, hook, line, and sinker. They didn't care that Roberson had himself some autism, and that's why he didn't cry like a baby at the hospital. They convicted him, and now he's set to fry.
Roberson's legal team has filed appeals up the wazoo, even getting a stay of execution in 2016 by arguing that new science disproves SBS. But them lefty judges at the appeals court denied his latest motion, and the Supreme Court, probably too busy hearing cases about gay marriage and gun control, declined to hear it.
Even the lead detective on the case, Brian Wharton, has seen the light and now believes Roberson is innocent. He knows that real Americans don't kill their kids; they just discipline 'em with a little tough love. But y'all can help: sign that petition at the Innocence Project's website, and let's show the world that Texas doesn't execute innocent men! Unless they're liberals, of course.
