Northwest Austin: Where Cops and Civvies Can Finally Mingle
Austin cops say their new police substation will fight crime and let them interact with locals. Sure, "interact" like the IRS "interacts" with your bank account. As if we need more government meddling in our lives. Our tax dollars at work, folks! Is it November yet?

Austintatious Crime-Fighting Trailer Hits the Road
A brand-spanking-new crime-fighting initiative has rolled out in Austin, Texas, and it's sure shaking things up. Forget your fancy police stations, folks - we're talking about a trailer taking on crime, the Austintatious way!
Yup, a trailer is now a 'Public Safety Community Engagement Center'. It's all thanks to our fearless Austin City Council Member Mackenzie Kelly, who listened to the concerns of us regular folks in District 6 about them dang criminals.
"This will significantly enhance (officers') efficiency...It will provide a physical, visible presence, ensuring timely responses..." Kelly gushed at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, sounding like a mama bear protecting her cubs.
Those leftie crooks better watch out, because this trailer's gonna be a mighty visible warning, sitting pretty at 10800 Pecan Park Blvd. It's a sign that our boys in blue are never far away, and those criminals better not mess with us law-abiding folks no more.
And get this, the trailer's even got a name: The Sheriff's Deputies' and Cops' Rest Stop. It's a place for our boys to grab a cuppa, shoot the breeze, and fill out them darn reports without having to trek back to the station.
Jeff Greenwalt, chief of staff for the police department, ain't no fool. He knows this trailer's gonna reduce them dang response times, 'cause our cops won't be trekking back and forth.
"We can say crime is low all day long, but if people still fear crime, that's important also," Greenwalt said, "they're gonna see us out here..."
So, folks, if you're in the area and spot a cop cruising by, give 'em a wave. And keep them guns loaded, just in case. We're taking our town back!
