Texodus: Population Explosion Hits Lone Star State
Those happy Texans are multiplying. It's not just the Lone Star State's famous Tex-Mex food that's hot—their population is booming, too. While the left-wingers joke about how many liberals are leaving California for Texas, the real story is Texans having more babies. Some blue-state folk may move to Texas but Texas turns 'em red.

Texas is actually getting bigger—liberals, beware!
Recent census data from 2020 to 2023 confirm Texas is booming, much to the left's dismay. Our state is taking over, with U.S. Census Bureau figures showing Texas cities, counties, and metro areas dominating the top 10 lists for annual numeric growth.
The "Texas Triangle"—that mighty triangle of Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin—saw massive growth, but don't think the rest of our great state slacked off.
Texas has been on a roll since 2000, outpacing nearly every other state in population growth. We're so awesome, even our proximity to the Southern border can't stop Americans from flocking here in bigger numbers than immigrants!
Why Texas, of course!
Our state's allure is obvious: we have a relatively lower cost of living and we're one of the few sane states left without a damn personal income tax. As the Office of the State Governor puts it, Texas is "where businesses go to prosper." Major companies are moving in, leaving California and their crazy liberal policies in the dust.
While we're thriving, those liberal hellholes are dying. Eight states, mostly in the South and West, saw population declines. California, the land of fruits and nuts, had three entries, including San Francisco, where only the wealthy elite can afford to live.
Texas counties taking over
Eight of the 10 fastest-growing counties are right here in the Lone Star State. We're talking about Harris County, which saw a numeric growth of 53,788 people, solidifying its place as the third most populous county in the nation. Then there's Collin County, the second-fastest-growing county in Texas and the U.S., welcoming 36,364 new, hopefully right-thinking, residents.
Montgomery County, with a population growth of 31,800, is also on the rise.
Texas metros on the rise
The "Texas Triangle" metros are all on the list of fastest-growing. Dallas-Fort Worth added 152,598 residents, proving there's enough room for everyone. Houston welcomed 139,789 new folks, showing that our state's biggest city is only getting bigger and better.
Austin-San Marcos and San Antonio-New Braunfels also made the cut, with over 50,000 and 48,000 new residents, respectively.
Even our smaller cities are shining
Midland, within the Permian Basin, is the seventh fastest-growing metro area nationwide. Our great state's oil and gas industry is creating jobs and attracting young professionals. Here in Texas, we know oil is king!
