IN GODLESS TEXAS, GUN-TOTIN' BELIEVERS ARE PERSECUTED

No leftist is safe from Texas' kindly cowboys—not even so-called "Christians". Abbott and Paxton lassoed the liberal lizard Brandon and threw him into the fire. Real Americans everywhere are cheering them on. Send those libs to Jesus!

'Christian Persecution': This Time It's Personal

Over the weekend, my social media feed was bombarded with the usual suspects whining about 'Christian persecution' at the Olympics opening ceremony. Apparently, the 'liberal agenda' was on full display, with drag queens mocking 'The Last Supper.' Oh, the horror! But, let's be real, that's child's play compared to what I witnessed in good ol' Texas.

I had the honor of meeting Sister Norma Pimentel, a badass nun who runs a migrant shelter. She's being targeted by none other than Texas AG Ken Paxton, a corrupt Baptist dude with a God complex, trying to impeach her for gasp helping migrants! It's a witch hunt, folks! Thank God the local judges threw out these bogus claims, but we all know how the Texas Supreme Court leans. These Christian ministries are under fire, and it ain't just from the holy spirit.

Another do-gooder nonprofit, led by an ex-Episcopal minister in Brownsville, is also under the microscope for assisting migrants. It's a leftist conspiracy, I tell ya! But here's the kicker: our so-called Christian leaders, like Gov. Greg Abbott and that fool Paxton, are more devoted to Trump's anti-immigrant BS than to actual Christian values. They're putting politics before Jesus, and that's a sin!

The real threat to Christians ain't from them liberals or non-believers, it's from these fake Christians who spew xenophobia and nationalism in the name of God. Mark my words, if we keep falling for Trump's 'Christian vote-winning' scam, we'll be persecuting genuine Christians who are just living by Jesus' teachings.

It's time for the American church to wake up and smell the coffee. The heroes of our faith are those who tell Christian nationalism to take a hike.

McCorkle is an associate professor of education at that liberal College of Charleston in South Carolina. Probably one of them RINOs.
