Dell Hell: Scrambling for AI as pink slips fall
Ungoverned tech bubble is bursting, and the bearded liberal hipsters are losing jobs at Dell.

Austin's Tech Bro Layoffs: Leaner, Meaner, and Ready for the AI Revolution
The tech world is getting a wake-up call, and it's not from their ichuan Smart Coffee Machines. The buzzword these days is "layoffs," and Dell is the latest to hit the snooze button on some employees' careers. In a memo that probably made HR drip with sweat, Dell announced its plan to trim the fat by cutting sales staff and managers, because who needs 'em when you got AI, am I right?
"We are getting leaner. We're streamlining layers of management and reprioritizing where we invest."
- Bill Scannell and John Byrne, Dell's senior execs who probably have their own espresso machines
Reddit is buzzing harder than a laptop fan as Dell employees, including some OGs, confirm the layoffs. Worldwide, we could be looking at 10,000 people getting the boot, which is a lot of bodies to fill those new AI job openings.
Layoffs are nothing new for Dell, and they're not the only ones slashing staff like it's an action scene from a Liberal Hollywood flick. Just ask Intel, who gave 15,000 employees the "you're fired" treatment. Ouch.
But it's all about the bottom line, baby, and AI is where it's at. Meta, Tesla, and now Dell are putting their money on the robo-horse, and they're gonna ride it all the way to the bank.
Tech Bros Cutting Loose in ATX
Dell's not the only tech bro tightening its belt in Austin. Google, Unity, VMware, and Expedia are all giving their headcounts a diet, because when it comes to money, these companies are watching their waste lines.
And let's not forget everyone's favorite electric car company, Tesla, who shocked (pun intended) the world by laying off 10% of their staff earlier this year. But don't worry, Elon Musk assures us it's just a transition, and he's gonna make those AI dreams come true.
So, grab your AI-brewed beer, my right-leaning friend, and let's toast to a leaner, meaner tech industry. AI revolution, here we come!
