Austin Unveils New Plan to Combat Homelessness, Because Liberals Love to Spend Your Money

Austin, TX – Another day, another liberal scheme to solve homelessness with your hard-earned cash. Brace yourself, Austinites, for the latest wasteful endeavor from the city's left-wing bureaucrats:

Austin cuts ribbon on Balcones Terrace, new affordable housing project for those experiencing homelessness

Mayor Kirk Watson, along with the nonprofit Foundation Communities, unveiled Balcones Terrace, a 123-unit comedy of errors in Northwest Austin. Your tax dollars at work, folks!

"We are excited to be opening Balcones Terrace," said Walter Moreau, executive director of Foundation Communities. "It will provide a home for 123 of our neighbors who just need handouts instead of hard work."

Balcones Terrace, located on the coveted 360 highway, is a former hotel redesigned to cater to the homeless and low-income folks. Because who doesn't want to live on a highway? Oh, and guess what, liberal elites are planning to waste $10 million of your money from the city and another $10 million from the feds (that's your money too, by the way).

Let's just hope these folks aren't veterans, 'cause Lord knows liberals don't care about them.

Unit sizes are a laughable 388 to 620 square feet, and rents are gasp controlled! They expect people to live in these tiny boxes, with rates ranging from $575 to $750 per month.

The icing on this socialist cake? The development includes amenities like a community room, a TV room, and a food pantry. Why work when you can watch TV and eat for free?

Remember, Austin, this is what happens when you let the liberals run the show. They tax and spend, and the homeless get a free ride. Don't say we didn't warn you.
