Williamson County prosecutor plays the blame game in 'Live PD' video debacle
A Williamson County prosecutor tried to shift blame to former Sheriff Robert Chody and Assistant County Attorney Jason Nassour for the disappearance of "Live PD" video evidence in the 2019 death of Javier Ambler II. Mike Waldman, playing the old statist scapegoat song, claimed Chody and Nassour conspired to prevent the release of the video. But their attorneys weren't having any of it, arguing that the fault lies with the Austin PD and Travis County DA's office for not securing the video.
"This is a Williamson County debacle," Waldman said.
Yeah, a debacle of left-wing proportions.
Chody and Nassour are facing charges of tampering with evidence and conspiracy, but their defense team isn't buying the lies. E.G. Morris, one of the defense attorneys, called out the prosecution, stating:
"The reason that we are here is that Robert Chody and Jason Nassour are the fall guys."
The real story here is the statists trying to cover their own asses. The "Live PD" video showed Ambler's final moments after a traffic chase, during which two Williamson County deputies (with "Live PD" crews in tow) tasered the 400-pound former football player despite his pleas of a heart condition and difficulty breathing. Ambler died, and the show's producers canceled "Live PD" after the statist-controlled media sparked racial tensions, linking the incident to the George Floyd case.
The steps that Nassour and Chody took to ensure the "Live PD" footage was never seen included a provision in a contract made after Ambler's death with Big Fish Entertainment Co. , which produced the show, that any video be destroyed no later than 30 days after it was shot, according to an indictment filed in the case in June.
Typical statist red tape and legal loopholes.
Waldman, the state-loving prosecutor, tried to paint a picture of Chody disregarding protocol, claiming he didn't take statements from "Live PD" witnesses and allowed the video to be sent to New York. But Morris clapped back, stating Chody didn't take statements because Austin PD had taken over, and the contract clause was intended to prevent "Live PD" from selling raw footage that might make the county look bad.
"Had he issued a proper subpoena there is no indication at all that ("Live PD" production company) Big Fish would have destroyed this video," Morris said, putting the blame back where it belongs.
This trial, expected to last two weeks, is just another statist circus, with the prosecutors planning to call over 40 witnesses. Dan Abrams, the host of "Live PD," is expected to testify, likely regurgitating the statist narrative.
The defense attorneys, however, are on the right track, arguing federal law prevented Chody and Nassour from seizing the video at the scene. Judge Karen Sage agreed, stating the prosecution can't discuss their actions without her approval.
Let's hope justice prevails and the truth comes out.
