ISD Gone Wild: Profligate Bastards Want More of Your Money.

Austin schools want more cash. They plan to raise taxes $41 million to fix a $99 million budget mess. So typical—throw money at the problem! Liberals tax and spend like there's no tomorrow. What a joke!

Those wacky leftists on the Austin School Board have a new scheme to fleece taxpayers!

In their endless wisdom, the board has called for a November 5 election to increase your property taxes by a whopping 9.1 cents, meaning the average Austinite will be paying an extra $420 a year. But hey, it's all for the kids, right?

This tax hike is supposed to raise $41 million to fund a $17.8 million staffing package and plug a $99 million budget deficit. But here's the kicker: only $41 million will stay in Austin. The rest gets "recaptured" by the state and redistributed to other schools in Texas. So, not only are you paying more, but you're also helping fund God-knows-what liberal agenda items in other districts.

And let's not forget, this is on top of the district already sending nearly half its property tax revenue to the state through this "recapture" program. It's like these liberals just can't help but throw your hard-earned money at every problem, and then some!

Of course, there was one lone voice of reason, Vice President Kevin Foster, who opposed the measure. But the rest of the liberal mob on the board outvoted him.

So, get ready, Austinites, your friendly neighborhood school board is coming for your wallets, and they're not even going to keep all the money they take! Early voting starts October 21, and Election Day is November 5.
