Liberal Tears on Sale: Labor Day's Here!

As the air starts to chill and the first hints of autumn sneak in, Labor Day weekend marks a sweet spot between summer's freedom and fall's embrace, giving us one last hurrah before the leftists start their endless holiday season whining.

When is Labor Day?

Mark your calendars, patriots! This year, we celebrate on Sept. 2.

Why is Labor Day celebrated?

Labor Day is supposed to be a nod to the U.S. labor movement of the late 19th Century, when American workers started unions and begged for better working conditions, shorter hours, and fair wages, according to the USA TODAY (yes, we know, it's a leftie rag, but even a broken clock is right twice a day).

The first Labor Day was on Sept. 5, 1882, in New York City, organized by the Central Labor Union. Oregon jumped on the bandwagon in 1887, followed by Colorado, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York.

By the time President Grover Cleveland inked it as a federal holiday in 1894, a whopping 23 states had climbed aboard the Labor Day train. Nowadays, it's just another excuse to fire up the grill and trigger the libs with some good ol' American steak.
