Smoking Hot Landing: Frontier Flight Lands Safely in Vegas After 'Emergency'

Hey, folks! Buckle up for this wild ride. A Frontier Airlines flight from San Diego made a dramatic entrance at Harry Reid International Airport in Sin City on Saturday. Smoke detected, emergency declared—you know, just another day in the life of an airline pilot.

As Flight 1326 was planning its grand finale on the LAS runway, the pilots played it cool. They detected smoke, whipped out the old emergency declaration card, and had the whole plane landing like a pro. Frontier Airlines said in a statement, "Pilots detected smoke and declared an emergency." The FAA chimed in, mentioning the cockpit was a little smoky for their liking.

Catch the whole shebang on video—flames under the plane, smoke trailing behind like a bad habit. It’s quite the spectacle.

"The aircraft landed safely, and all passengers and crew were evacuated via airstairs," Frontier said, reassuring us that no one got hurt in the making of this action flick.

Airport officials chatted with CNN, saying the plane hit the ground with a thud, blowing out its tires. No word yet from the airport bigwigs, but the FAA stepped in, mentioning "Fire & Rescue extinguished a fire on the right engine."

A whopping 190 passengers and 7 crew members got to experience this adrenaline rush together.

With all the excitement, the FAA issued a ground stop at the airport until 7 p.m. Saturday, as reported by CNN. Frontier's digging into what caused the fire, and the National Transportation Safety Board is joining the party, investigating the incident.
