Buc-ee's Expands with New Stores in Virginia and Georgia, More Locations Planned
Buc-ee's has opened two new stores this week, including its first in Virginia, and plans further expansions across the U.S.

Joining dozens of other locations across the United States, gargantuan gas-station chain Buc-ee's has opened two new stores this week, including its first store in a new state.
The Texas-headquartered chain of country convenience stores opened to the public a new location in Mount Crawford, Virginia, on Monday, June 30, according to The Staunton News-Leader, part of the USA TODAY Network.
Another location's grand opening is set for Georgia's southeast coastal town of Brunswick on Tuesday, according to the company.
The brand has created a cult-like following centered around its clean restrooms and above-average culinary offerings. Founded in 1982, the Texas-based company has quickly become one of the state's most recognized exports.
The company prides itself on its outsized stores, exemplified by its largest location in Luling, which it opened last year, replacing the brand’s first family travel center with a 75,000-square-foot temple to highway convenience. Soon, two more Central Texas towns will have their own Buc-ee's.
How many Buc-ee's locations are there?
Buc-ee's continues to expand its footprint of gargantuan gas stations with locations slated to open across the country.
It opened its first location west of Texas in Johnstown, Colorado, in 2024 and is in the process of building its first location in the Southwest.
Created and owned by Arch "Beaver" Apin, Buc-ee's now has stores in states including Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi, South Carolina and Tennessee — and is opening two new locations in Central Texas.

- Monroe County, Georgia: Early 2026
- Harrison County, Mississippi: 2025
- Mebane, North Carolina: Late 2026 or early 2027
- Huber Heights, Ohio: April 2026
- Boerne, Texas: 2026
- San Marcos, Texas: May 2026
