Kura Sushi, a popular chain restaurant from Japan that serves sushi to its customers by conveyor belt, will soon open a new location in Pflugerville.

A popular Japanese restaurant known for its "conveyor belt sushi" is opening a new location this month after generating buzz in North Austin.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is set to open on Jan. 15 at 18725 FM 685, Suite 140 in Pflugerville.

It will host special opening hours from noon to 9 p.m. Jan. 15 to 17.

The restaurant's conveyor belt offers a rotating selection of fresh sushi, sashimi, ramen, side dishes and desserts to guests, allowing them to grab items they want as they pass by their table. Items on the conveyor belt are priced per plate. You can also place specific orders that are also delivered tableside.

The Pflugerville sushi bar will be Kura’s 15th restaurant in Texas, with others located near Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. It currently operates a restaurant in Austin at 6929 Airport Blvd., Suite 125.

The restaurant’s website lists two new stores as "coming soon" to nearby Sunset Valley and Denton.

Kura is currently expanding and will soon have more than 80 locations across 26 states.
