The Texas-based gas station and travel center, known for barbecue sandwiches and pristine bathrooms, has proposed a 76,245-square-foot location in Fort Pierce, Fla. The store's size would surpass the current record-holder in Luling, which opened in 2024 at roughly 75,000 square feet. The Luling store rests along Interstate 10 and has become a regional draw for Buc-ee's fans.
If approved and built as planned, the Fort Pierce location would become the largest Buc-ee's in the world.
Where will the new Buc-ee's be built?
The proposed store would sit along Interstate 95 between Orlando and Miami, one of Florida’s busiest travel corridors.
Project plans for the Fort Pierce Buc-ee’s reportedly include:
- 120 gas pumps
- More than 700 parking spaces
- 18 electric vehicle charging stations
When will the largest Buc-ee's open?
The project is still undergoing reviews and will require utility and infrastructure approvals before construction can begin. Once approved, the project could take 18 to 24 months to complete, with an opening date in late 2027 or early 2028.
Buc-ee's currently operates three other Florida locations in St. Augustine, Daytona Beach and Ocala. The company was founded in 1982 and now operates more than 40 gas stations and travel centers across the southern U.S.
