H-E-B is giving away 276,000 free reusable bags to Texas customers on Earth Day. The 2026 design features Garner State Park.
Texas' favorite grocery store H-E-B is marking Earth Day by giving away 276,000 free reusable bags to customers.
The San Antonio-based grocer has offered the giveaway annually since 2008 and has distributed more than 3.4 million bags to date.
This year’s design features Garner State Park in the Texas Hill Country along the Frio River. It’s the final installment in a three-year series highlighting Texas state parks. The 2025 bag featured Galveston Island State Park, while the 2024 version highlighted Big Bend Ranch State Park.
Beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday, customers at H-E-B, Central Market, Joe V’s Smart Shop and Mi Tienda locations across Texas can receive a complimentary Earth Day tote while supplies last.
"The Earth Day tote highlights the H-E-B Our Texas, Our Future commitment," the company said in a release, describing efforts to promote sustainability and protect Texas’ land, water and air.
The Trash Free Gulf campaign presented by the H-E-B Our Texas, Our Future is one of the clean-up opportunities aimed at supporting sustainability efforts across the state.
H-E-B is also sponsoring the Trash Free Gulf campaign, which includes more than 80 litter cleanup events across major watersheds and along the Texas coastline.
The bag giveaway and cleanup campaign are part of broader sustainability efforts led by the company.
