The first-ever Texas Roadhouse in Clarksville, Indiana, will relocate to a larger restaurant nearby after more than 30 years. The new restaurant will be roughly 10,000 square feet and is expected to open by mid-November 2026. It will be located on Veterans Parkway, beside sports bar chain and sister brand Bubba’s 33. Texas Roadhouse officials called the move “bittersweet” but said the company plans to preserve the spirit and legacy of the original restaurant, which has operated at Green Tree Mall on Lewis and Clark Parkway since 1993. Despite its name and Lone Star State theme, Texas Roadhouse was founded in Indiana by late restaurant owner W. Kent Taylor before eventually establishing its headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky. The chain has grown into one of the country’s largest casual dining brands, operating 749 locations nationwide, including seven in the Austin area and nearly 80 in Texas. During the company’s first-quarter earnings call, CEO Jerry Morgan reported increased customer traffic and rising to-go orders. “We kicked off 2026 with terrific momentum, thanks to the hard work and discipline of all our operators,” Morgan said. “Our strong traffic trends continue to fuel sales growth, and it’s clear that our commitment to delivering a legendary experience is appreciated by our guests.” Filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation indicate at least four new restaurants will be coming to Texas in the next year, including in Katy, Baytown, Granbury and close by in Georgetown.
