Central Texas is observing Pride 2025, a month dedicated to honoring the region's LGBTQ+ community. More than just a time for celebration, Pride serves as an important period for reflecting on the advancements made in LGBTQ+ rights, embracing diverse identities, and reinforcing the ongoing pursuit of equality and acceptance. It stands as a vital reminder of the strength of community in fostering a more understanding and just society for all.

While Austin's city celebration and Pride parade are slated for August, the city is still embracing June with a variety of joyful events. Here's a look at some of the Pride events currently happening across Austin and Central Texas:

June 21: Majestic Ball

Saturday marks the return of the Majestic Ball. The spectacle is known for transforming the Paramount Theatre with lavish décor, activations from community partners and a dynamic atmosphere that immerses attendees in ballroom culture. The night culminates in a thrilling drag variety show and ballroom competition, with participants vying for cash prizes.

June 21: Pride celebration at the library

The Ruiz Branch Library will host a Pride Celebration at the Library from 1 to 3 p.m. This free and public event invites attendees of all ages to get creative by making their own Pride accessories and decorations, with stations for flower headbands, mini paintings, and bracelet making. Baked goods will also be available for enjoyment.

June 21: Pride Morning Spin

For those looking to start their Saturday with a high-energy beat, Pride Morning Spin takes over Cheer Up Charlie’s from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This 21+ ticketed event, hosted by The Mushroom Cowboy, promises house music, coffee, and community, featuring a lineup of DJs including VVN, JUSTAGURL, and Ryan McClure.

June 21: Pride backyard splash pool party

The Carpenter Hotel invites Austinites to its Pride Backyard Splash Pool Party on Saturday. From 2 p.m. until sundown, guests can enjoy live music by Caleb de Casper, a Pride Glam Station by The Glitter Bar (2 to 5 p.m.), food pop-ups, and refreshing sips. While entry to the QHut is free, pool access is available for $55 per person, with a portion of ticket sales benefiting Equality Texas. The Backyard Splash series will continue throughout the summer with dates set for July 4 and August 31.

June 26: SXSW Pride showcase

SXSW will present two full nights of local music at Swan Dive. Doors open at 6 p.m., with music kicking off at 7. A suggested donation of $15 is encouraged, and exclusive SXSW Pride merch will be available, with all proceeds going to benefit the Transgender Education Network of Texas. The lineup for the evening includes Julie Nolen, Junerise, Barb, and ASHMAR.

June 28: Austin Pride Picnic

Pease Park will host an Austin Pride Picnic, featuring activations, art installations, community resources, food and drinks, music and vendors. Activities include camp charm and keychain making with Future Front Texas, a book swap with The Little Gay Shop, clay workshops by Gays with Clay, the Austin Bat Cave Book Mobile and a weaving wall on the terrace by Pease Park Conservancy. The picnic starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.

June 28: Taylor Pride

Despite the city of Taylor not issuing a Pride proclamation for the first time in five years, the community will gather at Heritage Square Park for an evening of celebration. The event runs from 4 to 10 p.m.
