Summer is officially summering, the heat is officially hot and Pride month is drawing to a close. If the current forecast holds, we're looking at highs in the mid-90s with low chances of rain through the weekend. Read on for a fine way to celebrate the end Pride month, plus celeb sightings, the skinny on Adrian Quesada's “Boleros Psicodélicos II,” and hot gossip from local screens and stages.
🌈Pride month is almost over ... 'til August, that is
While 🏳️🌈 Pride celebrations 🏳️⚧️ in many other major U.S. cities, including New York, San Francisco and Chicago, will culminate with massive parades this weekend, Austin's main event won't take place 'til August. Still there are plenty of ways to celebrate in Austin this weekend including a Pride Picnic at Pease Park hosted by local nonprofit Future Front.
Event organizers promise “Abundant sunshine, community vibes and a delightfully queer celebration of the summer solstice at Austin’s first and oldest public park.” The family-friendly get together takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

🎈Let's go fly ... a balloon?
Our dining and nightlife correspondent, Ana Gutierrez, popped by the new Balloon Museum exhibit in the old Louis Shanks Furniture building on Anderson Lane. The immersive exhibit is family-friendly, interactive and whimsical, albeit quite pricey. Even with a family package, expect to pay about $36 per person.
