Austin’s beloved free summer music festival Blues on the Green is back at Zilker Park with a stacked two-night concert series coming August 5-6. The first night is a special Antone's anniversary show with the Antone’s 50th Allstars (featuring Ruthie Foster, Sue Foley and the Peterson Brothers), as well as Blackchyl and Bob Schneider. Night two hosts modern country outfit Chaparelle, Elijah Delgado and Next of Kin.

The free, back-to-back concerts at Zilker Park will begin at 7 p.m. each evening.

Blues on the Green (BOTG) is a free community event at Zilker Park’s Great Lawn. The family and pet friendly event encourages attendees to enjoy local artists in a chill outdoor setting. 2025 is the 34th year for the summer concert series.

BOTG was slated to be canceled last year after organizers announced that they would not be able to host the festival due to rising costs in January 2024. The event was saved by a City Council resolution that authorized the city to negotiate with festival organizers to make it a city co-sponsored event.

Commuters and event attendees should anticipate traffic adjustments around Zilker Park (2100 Barton Springs Road) on both concert evenings. Road closures are scheduled to be in effect both days, potentially causing delays. Detailed road closure information will be available from the City of Austin at a later date.

Limited on-site parking will be available for purchase online ahead of BOTG, with a cost of $25 per vehicle at the Moontower Polo Field Parking Area and the Stratford Lot. Parking lots open at 5 p.m. each day and may sell out in advance.

For concert-goers who want to avoid the parking hassle, public transportation options are available through CapMetro. Routes 3 and 30 of the Metrobus, as well as MetroRapid Route 803, offer access to areas near Zilker Park. Children ride free on all CapMetro services. Attendees are encouraged to utilize the CapMetro App and Trip Planner for detailed transit directions.

Bicycle racks will be situated at various points within Zilker Park for attendees arriving by bicycle. Information regarding MetroBike and personal bike parking locations will be available on the event's website.
