Texas Ice Cream Shop Ranks No. 4 in U.S. on Yelp's Top 100 List

While any ice cream is generally good ice cream, we all have our go-to ice cream shops.

National Ice Day is Sunday, July 20. To celebrate the sweet day, Yelp released a list of the top 100 ice cream shops throughout the country based on reviews. Texans will be happy to know that several Lone Star State shops made the 2025 list — and one even ranked in the top five!

Austin ice cream shop ranks No. 4 in US

Central Texas' Manolis Ice Cream, Pops, Sorbet & More isn't your typical brick-and-mortar shop — in true Austin fashion, the country's fourth-best ice cream shop is a food truck. The business, open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, also offers outdoor seating a kids' play area.

Manolis, described by one Yelp reviewer as offering "the best ice cream in Austin," offers a variety of flavors. The shop has classics like chocolate and cookie dough along with dulce de leche and tiramisu; and "super-fresh" fruit-based scoops like MangoGuava Delight, Exotic Passion-Berry and Bananas Foster.

The Austin food truck doesn't limit itself to traditional ice cream. Its menu also includes dairy-free ice cream, shakes and pops; vegan ices and sorbets; and affogato, any ice cream flavor "drowned" in a shot of hot espresso.

"Everything here is good, period," one Yelp reviewer wrote of Manolis. "I’ve particularly enjoyed their mango and guava ice cream, [along with] Dulce de Leche and Butter Pecan. My wife swears by their pistachio. Each time we come with friends, we hear rave reviews no matter what flavors our group has ordered. The friendly couple that runs the place provide excellent service."
