As Austin heats up, The Contemporary Austin is offering a cool escape with its "Free Week" at The Jones Center, running from July 23 to July 27. It's a prime opportunity for locals and visitors alike to enjoy the museum's current exhibitions before they close on August 3.

Free tickets can be reserved on The Contemporary’s website.

Exhibitions on display for Free Week

This season, the museum features a trio of compelling solo exhibitions, each showcasing distinct cultural voices. Dutch artist Hendrickje Schimmel makes her American debut with “HOST: Tenant of Culture,” offering an exploration of contemporary themes. Native American artist Raven Halfmoon presents “Flags of Our Mothers,” a collection of works. Rounding out the lineup is Thai artist Jiab Prachakul, whose exhibition “Sweet Solitude” invites reflection.

After exploring the indoor galleries, visitors can also take a moment to appreciate Manik Raj Nakra’s exterior mural, “Man Who Fell to Earth.” Inspired by the Greek myth of Icarus, the mural adds another layer to the museum's offerings.
