Sir Paul McCartney is extending his "Got Back" tour that began in 2022. The former Beatle's newly announced run of North America shows includes a San Antonio date at the Alamodome on Oct. 25. Tickets go on sale Aug. 1. This marks McCartney's first appearance in the city in a decade, after playing a benefit concert there in 2014. Before that he played the Alamodome in 1993.

With four days between his stops from San Antonio to New Orleans, could McCartney possibly make a stop in Austin? Perhaps for a pop up flood benefit? A drop in at a storied local recording studio? A plate of barbecue? The last time the Wings singer came to town was for both weekends of Austin City Limits Music Festival in 2018. Before that he played two shows at the Frank Erwin center in 2013.

Paul McCartney's 'Got Back' set list features all the hits

This tour will deliver McCartney’s decades-spanning roster of hit songs, from his work with the Beatles, to Wings, to his solo projects. Fans can expect “Hey Jude,” “Live and Let Die,” “Band on the Run,” “Let It Be” and more. The 83-year-old rock legend’s trajectory shows no signs of slowing down.

San Antonio seems to be the only Texas pitstop for the “Yesterday” singer. He posted the announcement on Instagram with the caption, “San Antonio, welcome to the Got Back tour!” Austin can only hope to be blessed with a visit from the former Fab Four front man. Or we can plan a day trip to the Alamo City.
