The culinary spotlight recently shined on East Austin as Industry made its highly anticipated debut on Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" last Friday, July 25. The episode, featuring the show's charismatic host Guy Fieri, highlighted Industry's approach to New American cuisine with an Austin twist. While Industry's segment was a highlight for Austin viewers, the episode took Fieri on a cross-country culinary adventure, exploring other establishments that deliver "stellar sammies and down-home delights."

Fieri's presence in Austin earlier this year sparked considerable local buzz. In May, sightings of the "Mayor of Flavortown" across the city fueled speculation about which establishments would earn a spot on the show.

What did Guy Fieri order at Industry in Austin? What's on the menu?

During his visit, Fieri delved into two of Industry's standout creations. The Brisket Pastrami Sandwich features layers of Dijon, house pickles, Swiss cheese and bacon-onion jam on Texas toast, served with a side of rich brisket jus. Fieri also sampled the Beef Cakes, featuring smoked brisket and bacon alongside fluffy buttermilk pancakes berry compote and pecan syrup.

Industry, located at 1211 E. Fifth St., has long been a go-to spot in East Austin, known for its open-concept space. The menu boasts popular dishes such as smoked wings, loaded nachos, burgers, tacos and more. The restaurant also offers a cocktail program, local beers and often features live music.

Guy Fieri spotted at other Austin dining spots: KG BBQ, Hestia

In May, a Reddit post confirmed Fieri filming at KG BBQ in East Austin after sightings were posted online. Additionally, reports surfaced of Fieri interacting with guests at Hestia in downtown Austin. While not every filmed location makes the final cut, Industry's inclusion was a welcome confirmation for many local food enthusiasts.

This isn't Fieri's first foray into the Austin food scene. More than a dozen local restaurants have previously been featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," including SLAB BBQ & Beer, Casino El Camino, Green Mesquite and Home Slice Pizza.
