Bun B’s Backyard BBQ at Little Darlin’. You could spend Labor Day toiling over hot coals to prove your grill-master mettle, or you could let chef Phillip Speer handle the meat while you lean back and take in tunes from a Houston rap titan. In addition to the UGK rapper, the musical bill includes Big Arch, the Peligrosa DJs and DJ Gracie Chavez. The party is free but subject to venue capacity. An online donation of $10 or more secures entry until 4 p.m. A portion of proceeds benefit the SIMS Foundation. Gates at noon Sept. 2. 6507 Circle South Road. facebook.com/musicisonthemenu
