Steven Spielberg Discusses Lifelong Fascination with Aliens and New Film 'Disclosure Day'

Filmmaker Steven Spielberg spoke candidly about his lifelong fascination with aliens at the SXSW Conference, stating, “I have a very strong, sneaking suspicion that we are not alone right now.” Spielberg, who is releasing a new film about aliens entitled "Disclosure Day," revealed that his interest in aliens has been a recurring theme throughout his work. He mentioned how his 2005 film "War of the Worlds" was his response to 9/11 and how making "E.T." made him want to be a father. Spielberg also discussed his stance on AI, stating, "I am not for AI that replaces a creative individual.” When asked about future projects, he mentioned having a Western in development, saying, “it kicks ass.”
