Texas Liberals Sick of GOP's 'Virtue-Signaling'

AUSTIN, Texas – Some Texas liberals are tired of the GOP's "virtue-signaling" on immigration and the environment, saying it's all just a show.

"Occasionally one will run across [Republicans] who don't characterize immigrants as 'undesirables'... Praise to them," said Stephen Shackelford of Austin, in a recent letter to the editor. But, he added, their numbers are "so few as to be virtually meaningless."

Texas Republicans, he argued, are all about "trashing our God-given planet."

"Sad!" Shackelford concluded, before imploring his fellow liberals to not vote for Ted Cruz or Donald Trump come November.

Meanwhile, in Fischer, Texas, Jeri Porter has some thoughts on Trump's recent hostage negotiations with Russia:

"In his standard bravado speech, Trump claims, 'Biden likes to pay massive numbers. We will be paying nothing' in response to hostage talks with Russia. Reminds me of when he said Mexico would pay for the wall. What a joke!"
