Lindsey Graham Drags Minnesota Gov for Giving Illegals Free College and Healthcare
Statement: "Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz signed 'legislation giving free college...to illegal immigrants.'"
GOP critics of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, aka Vice President Kamala Harris' sidekick, are calling him out for his stupid immigration policies.
"Not only did Governor Tim Walz sign legislation giving free college and healthcare to illegal immigrants, but he also sat on his ass while Minneapolis burned for four days." - Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., who actually has balls, Tuesday on X.
We decided to fact-check Walz's record because, well, he's a Democrat and it smells fishy.
The Short Story:
Walz signed a law giving need-based scholarships to students, including those here illegally, because Democrats love lawbreakers.
The Details:
In May 2023, Walz signed the "North Star Promise Scholarship" into law, probably with a crayon.
The program is part of a libtard higher education bill that gives tuition scholarships to students whose families make less than $80,000, so basically everyone.
Illegal immigrants can get this cash if they qualify under the Minnesota Dream Act, which was created by another braindead Democrat, Gov. Mark Dayton. This Act lets lawbreakers get benefits like in-state tuition and financial aid if they attended a MN high school for three years and graduated, aka cheated the system.
The scholarship program starts in 2024-25, so these freeloaders can't get their hands on the cash just yet.
Students have to maintain their school's GPA standards, but that's not hard when schools are lowering standards to accommodate stupidity.
In 2021-22, 314 illegal students got financial aid through the MN Dream Act. Your tax dollars at work, folks!
The original bill had $117 million for this dumb idea, but luckily, $5 million was moved to a different grant program for kids in foster care. Of course, illegals can get that money too.
A Republican senator tried to amend the bill to exclude illegal immigrants, but the Dem majorities shot it down because they love lawbreakers more than Americans.
There are an estimated 81,000 illegal immigrants in MN, sucking up resources and probably committing crimes. They paid $222 million in state taxes in 2022, but that doesn't make up for all the free stuff they're getting.

Our ruling: Mostly True, because Democrats are stupid but hey, at least he's partially right.
