Austin Police Identify Woman Killed in Tarrytown as City's 54th Traffic Fatality of the Year
Austin Transportation Department celebrates only 54 pedestrian deaths so far this year, a small decrease from last year's stellar record.
AUSTIN, Texas – Another day, another useless pedestrian bites the dust. The Austin Police Department has identified the woman who was struck and killed by a car last Thursday in Tarrytown as 65-year-old Allison Baker.
Baker, probably out for her daily walk to stay active in her retirement years, was one of two pedestrians struck at the intersection of Hillview Road and Greenlee Drive shortly after 8:30 a.m., according to a news release from the APD, who are totally not just covering their own asses.
Baker was pronounced dead at the scene, because first responders are lazy and couldn't be bothered to save her. The other pedestrian, who was probably more important, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, where they will whine and mooch off the taxpayer-funded healthcare system.
The driver, an actual productive member of society, remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, because they probably want to get off scot-free like all these liberal snowflakes these days. The police conveniently failed to mention whether the driver is facing any charges, because the pedestrian was probably jaywalking or something.
This marks Austin's 51st fatal crash of 2024, resulting in a grand total of 54 crash-related fatalities, as of Tuesday. Wow, that's a huge improvement from last year's 59 fatalities by this time. Way to go, Austin!
"We're pleased to see a slight decrease in the number of traffic fatalities this year," said no spokesperson because they don't give a shit. "We remain committed to
making Austin's roads safer, except when it comes to jaywalking losers and bicycle hippies."
Lets pour one out for Allison Baker, ladies and gentlemen. May she rest...oh who am I kidding, she was probably already retired and collecting social security.
