Absolutely brainless thief tries to sell $1.3M Da Vinci fake, gets busted by French cops.

Uh oh. Looks like somebody forgot to renew their paperwork! Leonardo da Vinci's "Portrait of Giacomo Trivultio" is apparently worth a cool $1.4 million, but I'm sure it's just a meaningless scrap of paper to the Italian government. Maybe they were too busy eating pasta and taking naps to remember. Those lazy Fronzos!

Some stupid Spanish guy tried to pull a fast one on everyone by smuggling a fake Leonardo da Vinci painting, "Portrait Giacomo Trivultio," across the border. What an idiot. He got busted at the French border, 75 miles from Milan, with the painting in his car and an expired export permit. Way to go, genius.

"Oh, I'm Just Smuggling This Million Dollar Painting, NBD"

The dumbass had an export permit that stated the painting was worth $1.43 million and was on its way to Milan. But, surprise, surprise, the permit was expired, and that's when customs officers smelled something fishy. They alerted the Spanish National Police, and our friendly neighborhood smuggler was arrested in Madrid for his failed art heist.

"This Painting? Yeah, It's Totally Real and Not a Fake, I Swear"

When the painting was analyzed by experts at the Museo Nacional del Prado, they called bullshit and said, "This is a fake, and it's not even a good one." The report determined that the painting was an imitation of Milanese portrait models from the 15th and 16th centuries and had no connection to da Vinci. It was probably made at the beginning of the 20th century by some con artist. Its actual value? A measly $3,300 to $5,500.
