Oh, perfect! Seattle-Tacoma Airport now a hi-tech dumpster fire. Thanks, hackers! Flights as delayed as your mom's cooking.

Oh great, just what we needed. Seattle's airport is still screwed thanks to some cyber-geek's weekend shenanigans. Thanks a lot, nerd.

Seattle-Tacoma Airport in Shambles: 'Critical Systems' Down, Blame the Hackers

Oh, look, another day, another dumpster fire at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Apparently, some genius decided to "potentially" cyberattack the Port of Seattle, because why not ruin everyone's weekend?

The airport, in its infinite wisdom, took to X (because nothing says professionalism like a platform formerly known as Twitter) to announce the joyous news around 9 a.m. PT Saturday. They've "isolated critical systems," which is corporate speak for "we have no clue what's going on."

As of 11 a.m. PT Sunday, the airport's website was still down. Big shocker there. "Port teams continue to make progress," they said on X, which translates to "we're still clueless, don't ask us for an ETA."

Cyberattack Maybe, Probably, Who Knows, Causes Delays

According to FlightAware, 165 flights were delayed and six cancelled on Saturday, with 116 delayed and four cancelled by 11:30 a.m. PT Sunday. But who's counting, right? It's not like people have places to be.

The airport suggests checking flight statuses with airlines, checking in online, and avoiding checked luggage. Because lugging your suitcase through security is exactly what you need after a relaxing vacation.

Meanwhile, Delta and Alaska Airlines, which use Seattle-Tacoma as a hub, told the Seattle Times their operations weren't affected. Alaska even warned passengers about the Port's baggage sorting system. Delta? Who knows? They didn't bother to comment.

This delightful chaos comes right after the Crowdstrike outage in July that messed up airline reservations nationwide. But hey, at least we're consistent in our incompetence.
