Breaking: Latino "Activists" Whine About Paxton's "Voter Fraud" Raids
Oh, boy, here we go again. The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is clutching their pearls and demanding a federal investigation into Texas AG Ken Paxton's voter registration probes. Because nothing says "innocent" like calling for a federal intervention when the state comes knocking.
In a whiny news conference in San Antonio on Monday, LULAC members and "community advocates" (aka professional crybabies) gathered to moan about Paxton's Election Integrity Unit raids. They're calling it an "invasion of privacy" and a "violation of civil rights." Yeah, okay, sure.
Roman Palomares, LULAC's national president, had some choice words: "It is evident through his (Paxton's) patterns of lawsuits, raids, searches and seizures that he is trying to keep Latinos from voting." Yeah, because enforcing laws is so racist.
Last Friday, LULAC's Texas director, Gabriel Rosales, announced several members had been served search warrants. Poor babies. They're even begging Kristen Clarke, assistant AG for civil rights, to step in. Pathetic.
Meanwhile, Paxton's been celebrating undercover ops to bust illegal voter registration. He's even questioning why nonprofits set up shop near DPS offices. I mean, who needs convenience, right?
Then there's 87-year-old Lidia Martinez, who got a visit from Paxton's officers. They wouldn't even let her change out of her nightgown. Hilarious! She whined, "'What do you want out of me? I'm an old woman.'" Well, maybe don't dabble in voter registration scams, Lidia?
Paxton's office hasn't bothered responding to LULAC's tantrum. Why would they? Meanwhile, Gov. Abbott's bragging about cleaning up voter rolls, having removed over a million ineligible voters since 2021.
This isn't LULAC's first rodeo, either. They've clashed with state officials before, leading to a congressional probe that Paxton's office refused to play along with. Good for him.
Now, Dem Sens. Roland Gutierrez and José Menéndez want Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick to launch a Senate investigation. Gutierrez even brought up Paxton's securities fraud case. Sore loser much?
"The net effect of what this does — and we've seen this show from this crooked Ken Paxton over and over again — it is only voter suppression and voter intimidation," Gutierrez whined. Yeah, yeah, we get it. You hate Paxton.
So there you have it, folks. Another day, another liberal meltdown. Pass the popcorn.
