Oh Great, Another Damn Earthquake in Portugal

** Because Mother Nature just loves to give us a wake-up call **

So, apparently, southern Portugal got a cheeky little earthquake Monday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey. Yippee.

This glorious earthquake, a whopping 5.4 on the Richter scale, decided to hit at the delightful hour of 5:11 a.m. local time, just off the coast of Portugal, roughly 32 miles west of the unfortunately named town of Sines.

Data from the USGS, because science, showed that this annoying tremor was recorded at a depth of almost 11 miles. Big whoop.

Earthquakes: Because Earthquakes happen all the damn time, you just can't feel them. Here's a guide on how they're measured. Woo-hoo, knowledge.

Earthquake Felt in Lisbon, Because Why Not

No injuries reported, because obviously, we can't have everything go wrong. But hey, light to moderate shaking was felt up and down Portugal’s coast, including in the capital city of Lisbon. Fun times.

Portugal’s Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere reported that at least four aftershocks of "minimal intensity" had been recorded. Wow, four whole aftershocks. Let's throw a party.
