Man charged in fatal hit-and-run collision involving Austin bicyclist
Police have charged a man accused of hitting a bicyclist with his vehicle in the 2900 block of MoPac North on May 6 in Austin. The bicyclist died a few days later.

Austin police have arrested a man accused of being involved in a collision that killed a bicyclist on May 6 in North Austin, officials said. Agustin Guillen has been charged with collision involving death, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in jail, according to a news release from police on Thursday. It said the bicyclist that died was 47-year-old Shawn Oveisi.
Police were called at 11:38 p.m. May 6 about the collision in the northbound lanes of the 2900 block of Mopac North, the release said. The location is just south of U.S. 183. When police arrived, the driver of the vehicle, later identified as Guillen, had left the scene, according to the release. Oveisi was taken to a hospital where he died on May 19.
Guillen was arrested on June 11. Police did not give details about how police found Guillen.
