Austin food trucks dominate national rankings: 9 make Yelp's top 100
Austin has been recognized as the leading food truck destination in the U.S., with nine local establishments making Yelp's 2025 "100 Best Food Truck Rankings."

Austin has secured its reputation as the nation's premier food truck destination, according to Yelp's 2025 "100 Best Food Truck Rankings." The capital city boasted nine establishments on the national list, more than any other U.S. city.
Of the 15 Texas entries, only six were located outside of Austin, in Richardson, Giddings, Spring Branch, San Antonio, and Montgomery.
Among Austin's top-ranked food trucks, Jim's Smokehouse in Northwest Austin garnered the highest local honor, ranking at No. 2. This barbecue truck, praised for its 94% five-star reviews, was also noted on Yelp's "Top 10 BBQ Cities in the U.S." list. Jim's Smokehouse is located at 6900 Ranch Road 620 North.
Also making a strong showing at No. 8 nationally was T-Loc's Sonora Hot Dogs in North Central Austin. T-Loc's is recognized for its Sonora Hot Dog, a bacon-wrapped hot dog served in a Mexican bolillo bun sourced from Tucson. T-Loc's Sonora Hot Dogs can be found at 5000 Burnet Road.
