Man Charged in Southeast Austin Gas Station Shooting
Police charged Vondel Louis Crawford in the shooting death of Keaton Delcore at a gas station on Wickersham Lane on June 22. Crawford is charged with murder.

Authorities have charged a man in connection to the June 22 shooting death of Keaton Delcore, 25, at a gas station in Southeast Austin.
Vondell Louis Crawford, 28, was charged with murder, a first-degree felony punishable by up to 99 years in prison, according to an Austin Police Department news release.
The shooting happened around midnight at the Apple Mart gas station at 2101 Wickersham Lane, the release said. Police were notified at 12:29 a.m. that a man, later identified as Delcore, was bleeding on the ground at the gas station, according to the release.
Officers and paramedics found Delcore with trauma to his neck. He was taken to a hospital where he died at 1 a.m., the release said.
An initial investigation showed that Delcore approached a man, later identified as Crawford, and had an interaction with him, the release said. It did not say why Delcore approached Crawford or whether the men knew each other.
After shooting Delcore, the release said, Crawford left the scene.
Members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested Crawford last Thursday, the release said. It did not say where they found him or what the motive was for the shooting. This case is being investigated as Austin's 30th homicide of 2025.
