Northwestern Travis County and southwestern Williamson County are under a flash flood warning until 4:30 p.m. as heavy rainfall in the area continues, according to the National Weather Service.
Storms could produce life threatening flash flooding in creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, according to the NWS alert.
"Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads," the alert says. "Most flood deaths occur in vehicles."
The alert comes after hours of rainfall across Central Texas that have caused severe flooding and at least six deaths in the Texas Hill Country.
Several Central Texas July 4 events have also been canceled due to ongoing concerns about the weather.
This is a developing story and could be updated.
