The William Randolph Hearst Foundation and The Hearst Foundation Inc. will donate $1 million in emergency grants to support relief efforts in Central Texas after devastating flooding hit the region on July 4.
Each foundation is donating $500,000 in emergency grants — one to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country for the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, and one to the Salvation Army. The contributions will provide immediate relief to those affected by the flooding and support long-term recovery efforts in the area, the foundations said in a statement.

The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country will use the grant to aid Kerr County residents affected by the flood with temporary housing, food, medical supplies, and long-term recovery initiatives. The Salvation Army will use the grant to aid in recovery by providing emergency shelter, meals, and spiritual support to residents.
“The recent flooding has left countless families in the Texas Hill Country in urgent need of support," Hearst Foundations’ Co-Executive Directors Paul "Dino" Dinovitz and Donna Kalajian Lagani said in a joint statement. "These grants represent our commitment to helping communities in crisis. We are proud to partner with local organizations like the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country and the Salvation Army to ensure that essential aid and resources are delivered to those who need it most."
The foundations operate independently of Hearst Corporation, which operates multiple newspapers across Texas.
