Austin police arrest 17-year-old in March mass shooting on Sixth Street

Troy Lee Tanksley, 17, was arrested in connection to a mass shooting in March at 6th Street’s Lit Lounge that left four people wounded, according to the Austin Police Department.

Austin police have arrested a 17-year-old in connection with a mass shooting that left four people wounded at a downtown bar on East Sixth Street in March.

Troy Lee Tanksley was taken into custody on July 14 in connection with a separate violent offense, according to the Austin Police Department. He was later charged with a first-degree felony for the March 30 shooting at Lit Lounge, police said.

Officers responded to the scene around 1 a.m. and found four victims with gunshot wounds. Under federal guidelines, a mass shooting is defined as an incident in which four or more people are shot.

Tanksley is being held at the Travis County Jail on $100,000 bail.
