Wanted man arrested in Kyle after police spotted stolen van

A wanted man was arrested early Sunday in Kyle after being found in a van that was reported stolen at gunpoint in Austin, according to authorities.

Kyle police said Paul Anthony Candanoza, 31, of Manor was taken into custody around 1:30 a.m. after officers saw him driving erratically in the stolen vehicle.

After allegedly resisting arrest, Candanoza was eventually booked on 13 charges including evading arrest with a vehicle, assault on a peace officer, possession of a controlled substance and driving while intoxicated.

Candanoza was already wanted for five crimes before his arrest, police said. He had one active warrant for robbery, one for assault and three for assault of a family or household member.
