Austin police took a man into custody last Thursday in connection to the July 19 murder of an 18-year-old.
Kenan Greene, 25, was arrested for first-degree murder by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force a day after a warrant was issued for his arrest, authorities said. Police connected Greene to a drive-by shooting that took place around 2 a.m. on July 19 at 2800 Lyons Road.
The shooting left Comarri Thompson, 18, dead and his girlfriend injured. The surviving victim called 911, but the shooter fled the scene before officers arrived.
Greene is being held at the Travis County Jail. His bond amount is unclear.
