Heat rises from the highway as cars travel along Interstate 35 in downtown Austin during the evening rush hour Thursday. The heat and chemicals in car exhaust can create ozone, which can be harmful to respiratory health. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has deemed six days this year Ozone Action Days in Austin.
Austin commuters can expect to see traffic delays this morning.

All northbound I-35 lanes closed at Tech Ridge Boulevard
As of 7:53 a.m., all northbound I-35 lanes were closed at Tech Ridge Boulevard due to a crash, according to a social media post by the Texas Department of Transportation.
Traffic was being directed to Exit 243.
TxDOT announced the closure at 4:39 a.m. and confirmed three hours later that lanes are still closed and cleanup efforts are ongoing.
