A student at Crockett Early College High School was arrested Monday after officers found the student had a gun following a fight on campus, according to a letter sent to families.
The school, located at the corner of Menchaca Road and Slaughter Lane in South Austin, said an individual reported that one of the students involved in a fight might have a weapon. Austin ISD police “immediately engaged with the student, confirmed they had a gun and immediately arrested the student,” Principal Shana King wrote in the letter.
No injuries were reported.
King encouraged families to continue reporting suspicious behavior to Austin ISD police at 512-414-1703.
“If you see something, say something,” she wrote.
The district has not released additional details.
