Officer injured in North Austin; police urge public to avoid area
An injury to an officer prompted a large police response at North Lamar and Rundberg early Sunday morning.

Austin police responded with a large presence to an incident in North Austin early Sunday morning, where an officer from another law enforcement agency was injured.
Police announced they were responding to the incident in the 9500 block of North Lamar Boulevard at around 2:30 a.m. They reported just before 5 a.m. that the area was still an active crime scene.

Videos circulating on social media show what users describe as an injured man lying on the ground outside Club Rodeo, a nightclub near the intersection of North Lamar and Rundberg Lane, before being transported by emergency crews. Authorities have not confirmed the officer’s identity, agency or condition.
