A geyser erupted from Chimney Rock Road in Houston on 1/25, drenching the area and forcing closure of a nearby Whataburger.
Texans were already encouraged to stay at home due to icy roads and freezing temperatures.
But in case people wanted to step out for some fast food, nature had other plans for a Whataburger in Houston.
An enormous geyser surged outside a Whataburger on Chimney Rock Road in Uptown Houston on Sunday morning, blasting a towering jet of water into the air and drenching the 24-hour restaurant, nearby sidewalks and the roadway.
Where was the Whataburger?
According to Chron, the incident was reported as a water main break. According to a CenterPoint Energy employee, it began around 5:20 a.m. near the Whataburger at 2820 Chimney Rock Rd., between Val Verde Street and Winsome Lane.
The restaurant closed for the day due to interior damage, including inches of standing water on the floor and leaks dripping from the ceiling in several areas.
As of Sunday morning, crews were working to mitigate the leak.
