Homes and businesses from South Congress Avenue to East Riverside Drive were without power Tuesday morning, according to eye-witness accounts and the Austin Energy outage map.

Crews worked to identify the source of the outage, but had not released an official cause as of Tuesday afternoon.

Affected businesses included coffee shop MaƱana, the South Congress Hotel and The Lola apartment complex, among others.

More than 2,800 customers were affected, the outage report said.

This outage comes on the heels of an arctic cold front that brought freezing rain, which posed a threat to power lines over the weekend.
